Privacy Policy
This policy explains what MackOps collects, why, and what you can do about it. MackOps (“we”, “us”) is a software product operated by Makacek Media, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Questions go to tomas@makacekmedia.com.
The short version
- We collect what we need to run the jobs, approvals and posts you manage in MackOps.
- We never sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
- When you connect a social account, we only publish content that you or your team create or approve, to the accounts you choose.
- You can disconnect accounts and delete your data at any time. See Data deletion.
What we collect
Waitlist
Your email address and which page you signed up from. That's it.
Your account
Your name, email address and profile photo from the sign-in method you use (for example Google Sign-In), plus the role your team gives you.
Business data you enter
Clients, jobs, addresses, schedules, notes, chat messages, photos and video, receipts, invoices, captions and approvals. This may include your clients' names, phone numbers and email addresses so MackOps can send the confirmations and updates you set up. You control this data; we process it on your behalf.
Connected platform accounts
When you connect Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn or Google Business Profile, we receive an access token and basic details about the accounts and pages you authorize: IDs, names and profile images, plus the posts we publish for you and their status. We request only the permissions needed to publish and to show you whether a post went out.
Technical data
Standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps), error reports, and a notification token if you turn on push notifications.
How we use it
- To run the service: show your jobs, route your crew, file your media, collect approvals, send the texts and emails you trigger, and publish the posts you schedule.
- To keep it secure and working: preventing abuse, fixing bugs, backups.
- To contact you about your account or the waitlist.
We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use platform data to build profiles of people.
Connected platforms
Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
We use Facebook Login for Business so you can authorize the Pages and Instagram professional accounts MackOps may publish to. We use this access only to publish content you create or approve, and to read back whether it was published. You can remove MackOps at any time in Facebook under Settings → Business integrations.
Google, YouTube and Google Business Profile
MackOps's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. When you use YouTube features, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of that data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke access at Google security settings.
YouTube API Services
MackOps uses YouTube API Services to upload videos to a YouTube channel that you choose to connect. By connecting a channel and publishing to YouTube through MackOps, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What we access. When you connect, Google asks you to grant MackOps two permissions: upload videos to your channel, and view your channel. We read your channel's ID, name and handle. We do not read your videos, comments, analytics, subscribers or viewing history.
What we store. Your channel's ID, name and handle, the date you connected, and an authorization token issued by Google that lets MackOps upload on your behalf. The token is kept on our server and is never shown to other users. For each upload we keep a short record (video ID, title, status) for up to 3 days, and the link to the published video stays on the post it belongs to. We refresh the stored channel details at least every 30 days while you stay connected.
How we use it. Only to upload the videos that you or your team choose to publish, with the title, description and visibility set on that post, and to show which channel is connected. An upload happens only when a signed-in user presses Publish on a specific post. We do not use YouTube data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone other than the service providers listed in this policy that host MackOps.
On your device. MackOps keeps a small amount of information in your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to complete the connection to YouTube. We do not use advertising cookies.
Disconnecting and deleting. You can disconnect at any time on the MackOps connect page. That revokes MackOps's access at Google and deletes your token and channel details from our server immediately. You can also remove MackOps from your Google security settings; when you do, we delete the stored token and channel details within 30 days. If you ask us to delete your YouTube data, we do it within 7 days. Videos already published stay on YouTube under your control.

TikTok and LinkedIn
We use the official TikTok and LinkedIn APIs only to publish content you choose to the accounts or Pages you authorize, and to show publishing status. You can revoke access in each platform's settings or by disconnecting inside MackOps.

How long we keep it
- Waitlist emails: until you ask us to remove you, or 12 months after MackOps opens to the public.
- Account and business data: while your account is active. When you close it, we delete it within 30 days, except backups, which roll off within a further 30 days.
- Platform access tokens: deleted as soon as you disconnect the account or revoke access.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by emailing tomas@makacekmedia.com. We reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If you're a client of a MackOps customer (for example, you received a text or approval link from a contractor or agency), that business controls your data. Contact them first. We'll help them respond.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to signed-in team members with the right role, and platform tokens are stored server-side, never in the browser.
Children
MackOps is a business tool and isn't meant for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
