The best Jobber alternative depends on the kind of work you do. If you run recurring service visits on a route, Jobber is a strong fit and you may not need to switch. If you run a renovation or trade crew on multi-day jobs, the usual pain points are paying per user as the crew grows, keeping clients updated with photos, and getting finished work in front of new clients. Housecall Pro is the closest like-for-like swap. ServiceTitan suits larger, dispatch-heavy shops. MackOps is built for crews that want the job, the client's OK and the finished post in one place.

Prices below come from each company's public pricing page, checked October 20, 2026, in USD. Software pricing changes often, so confirm before you buy.

Which Jobber alternative fits your crew?

  • Stay on Jobber if you do repeat service work, need routing, and want a big app marketplace.
  • Housecall Pro if you run home service calls and want review tools and online booking.
  • ServiceTitan if you have a larger team, a dispatcher, and a budget for an enterprise setup.
  • MackOps if you run project work, want clients to see progress photos in a portal, and want approved photos posted to Instagram and Facebook.

What does Jobber do well?

Jobber is popular for good reasons.

  • Clear published pricing. The Core plan starts at $29 a month billed annually, or $49 a month with no commitment, for one user.
  • A full service toolkit. Quoting, scheduling, invoicing, online payments, a client hub where clients approve quotes and pay invoices, and iOS and Android apps.
  • Integrations. QuickBooks Online and Xero sync, Zapier, and an app marketplace with 100+ tools.
  • A free trial. 14 days on the Grow plan, no credit card.

If that covers your day, stay put.

Why do small crews look for a Jobber alternative?

Most contractors do not leave Jobber because it is bad. They leave because of fit.

1. The bill grows with the crew. Jobber prices plans by team size and lists extra users at $29 a month each.

2. Key features sit on higher plans. Automated client reminders and QuickBooks Online sync start on Connect (from $99 a month billed annually for one user). Two-way texting starts on Grow (from $149 a month billed annually for one user).

3. Projects are not service visits. Jobber is built around visits and recurring work. A kitchen renovation runs for weeks, and the client wants to see how it is going.

4. Marketing lives somewhere else. Your best marketing is the finished job, but in most setups the photos stay on someone's phone. Jobber's Marketing Suite is a $99 a month add-on on Core, Connect and Grow, and is included on Plus.

Housecall Pro: the closest swap

Its Basic plan starts at $59 a month billed annually. Essentials includes 5 users, and MAX includes 8 users with $35 a month per extra user. Review management, online booking, and quotes and invoices with automated reminders are listed from Basic. QuickBooks Online sync starts on Essentials. It says there are no long-term contracts, and the free trial runs 14 days on MAX.

Best for: home service crews that live on calls, dispatch and repeat customers. If you are leaving Jobber only over price or feel, try both trials side by side.

ServiceTitan: for bigger shops

ServiceTitan does not publish prices. Its pricing page asks you to book a demo. It highlights a dispatch board, call recording, marketing tracking, automated checklists and in-depth reporting.

Best for: larger service companies with office staff. For a 3 to 10 person renovation crew, it is usually more system than you need.

MackOps: built for crews that want the work seen

MackOps is job management software from Makacek Media, a Toronto team that spends its days on job sites for builders and trades. It follows one job from the first booking to the finished post. What it does today:

  • Book and assign. Book by address, assign the crew, and keep the job details with the booking.
  • Run the day from a phone. The crew opens the day's work, clocks in at the job site, follows the checklist, adds photos and captures receipts. GPS clock-in is coming soon.
  • Client portal. Each client gets a portal of their own with job progress, crew updates and the latest photos, and can give the OK on job photos.
  • Quotes to invoices. Quotes with line items, tax and totals, turned into an invoice when the job is done.
  • Post the finished work. Approved photos become posts for Instagram and Facebook. TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Google Business Profile are rolling out. Our guide on turning job photos into social posts covers the workflow.

MackOps is in early access with a waitlist, and a real person helps you set up and bring your jobs in. Plans, in USD per month plus applicable taxes:

  • Lite, $50. Scheduling and the client CRM.
  • Trades, $100. Everything except social posting.
  • Trades + Social, $150. Adds social posting and AI captions for one business.
  • Agency, $250. For agencies posting for several businesses.
  • Extra seats, $15 per seat on every plan.

Best for: renovation and trade crews on multi-day jobs that want fewer update calls and their finished work on social media.

How do you choose? Five questions

  1. Visits or projects? Visits and routes point to Jobber or Housecall Pro. Multi-week projects point to a portal-first tool.
  2. How many logins in a year? Price each plan at that headcount, including extra user fees.
  3. What do you need on day one? Find the lowest plan that has all of it.
  4. Who updates the client? If it is you, at night, by text, pick software where the crew's photos update the client.
  5. Who posts your work? If the answer is "nobody," look for a tool that turns job photos into posts.

Whatever you pick, run one real job end to end before moving the whole crew.
